“ The decision to complete the restoration of Rothesay Pavilion is not just a victory for design lovers, but for everyone who values Scotland’s rich cultural heritage. This building is a stunning example of International Modernism and bringing it back to life is a testament to our commitment to preserving iconic architecture while adapting it for future generations. As someone passionate about design and the power of creative spaces, I’m thrilled to see Rothesay Pavilion being restored to its former glory. It will serve as an inspiring hub for creativity, community, and the arts – a place where heritage meets contemporary vision. The Pavilion’s revival is crucial not only for the people of Bute but for the whole of Scotland, ensuring that this incredible landmark can inspire and engage for decades to come.”

ABOUT Anna Campbell-Jones
Anna Campbell-Jones is a vibrant force in design, television, and influence, known for her adventurous and humorous approach to life and work. Her journey took a pivotal turn in 2018 when a fire closed Glasgow School of Art, where she had been lecturing since 2000. This unexpected break led to her casting on Scotland’s Home of the Year, a hit show that showcases unique homes across the country and has since enjoyed multiple successful seasons. This role expanded her reach and affirmed her status in the design world, culminating in her award as Scottish Influencer of the Year. Her passion for storytelling shines through in her own brand of handmade textiles, inspired by wartime dazzle camouflage and infused with her signature mid-century style.
Her interior design practice, Habitus, reflects her deeply personal and narrative-driven approach. Anna’s home, a lovingly restored flat in Glasgow’s west end, embodies her philosophy that “everything in your house should tell a story.” Her eclectic decor juxtaposes family heirlooms, vintage finds, and colorful modern pieces, creating a vibrant patchwork of personal history. Growing up in Hammersmith, Anna was influenced by her architect father’s minimalism but chose a more expressive style for herself. Her flat, once charred by a previous owner’s fire, has become a lifelong project that blends her family’s story with remnants of its past, like the metal filing cabinet filled with the previous owner’s photos.
Anna’s passion for design extends beyond her home to a remote bothy on Scotland’s west coast, which she and her family frequent. This rustic retreat, redesigned with eco-friendly upgrades, is an extension of her love for meaningful spaces filled with treasured family items. Painted in a striking dazzle camouflage, the bothy exemplifies Anna’s eye for blending practicality with expressive design. Whether she’s exploring Glasgow’s vintage shops, immersing herself in art exhibitions, or working in her pattern-filled studio, Anna is a creative whose work and spaces are guided by sincere choices and a love for life’s colorful narratives.
“Clients always ask me, ‘How will I know if things match?’, and I always say they don’t have to! They can relate to each other.” Anna Campbell-Jones, Homes & Interiors Scotland interview by Catherine Coyle
