The Rothesay Pavilion Peoples Archive Commission

The Rothesay Pavilion Peoples Archive Commission

Rothesay Pavilion is inviting artists and members of the public to get involved in two new community commissions that celebrate the people and stories connected to the building.

The People’s Archive, will collect memories, photographs, objects and personal stories linked to the Pavilion. From dance nights and concerts to family celebrations and five-a-side football, it will bring together memories of how people have used and enjoyed the building over the years.

The archive will live online and continue to grow as new material is discovered and added. It will be open for anyone to explore, whether contributing something new or simply taking a look.

As the project develops, the Pavilion hopes to appoint a curator to help lead the archive, working with the community to organise the material and bring the stories together into a lasting body of work. Anyone interested in this role, or in helping shape the project, is warmly encouraged to get in touch.

There are also plans for a physical outcome, with material gathered during this first phase expected to inform a future exhibition as part of the Pavilion’s opening programme.

If you have a memory to share – a photo, an object or a story – or know someone who might like to be involved creatively, please complete the form below.
